Still, I am not being molested by any update prompts etc., neither for Adobe, nor for Chrome itself. It is all handled subtly in the background
Besides that I get the impression that the pdf reader within Chrome is a stripped down, streamlined version, it opens so much faster than Adobe.

Why wouldn't he be? Personally, I'm sick of it too. I'm just about ready to dump Adobe products right off of my computer.

That's the best option, but if your going to have them installed you do not want to prevent updates.

Definitely. I always keep it updated. I just hate the way they do things.

They're not INVADING anything, and they're not doing whatever they want. They're pushing out a quality product and updates are required to reduce threat.

I can't believe this thread. You know what? If you weren't annoyed by updates you'd be annoyed by a security flaw and this thread would be about how much Adobe sucks and how vulnerable and dangerous it is......ugh.

You're not understanding me. I think Adobe sucks, not the updates. I can see why the other poster doesn't like Adobe. That's it.

This whole thread is about the frequent updating, and that's what my comment was pertaining to.

I get that now. I missed that the first time I posted. NHDave set me straight on that. Sorry to confuse things.

At least I can leave for half a day and come back with the updates done, instead of Adobe knocking on the door more times than I like. Then I can turn the updates off for awhile.
