Or does anyone else think Yahoo is horrible?!?!? Seriously, they are getting worse every single day! And don't even think about reading their ridiculous news, because Yahoo seems to think no one can read and must utilize videos with commercials. It also appears they're having problems incorporating all the alignments, such as with ABC news, they've gotten into lately....they are slow and sometimes I can't even access my email -- like now when I get "sorry we're experiencing some technical difficulties." Sheesh....when are they NOT experiencing difficulties?????

Yeah, I know, I know.....there are other sites. I have a couple of Yahoo mail accounts that I would love to close out, but they are well known addresses, so I keep them no matter how much of a headache Yahoo can be!

I'll step off my soap box ... thanks for listening! I feel better now.....

Most sites that used to be popular but are shrinking in popularity now don't know how to deal with the loss of users, so they try tricking up the site, which makes more users go away. They can't seem to see the forest for the trees. Making it cumbersome, flashy, "new and innovative" usually turns people away. Simplicity and reliability are what people want.

The only way I know yahoo even exists is when a yahoo reference shows up in the Google search results.

Do people really still use yahoo or is this a joke?

I use Yahoo everyday. I think they're getting better for how I use it.

I used to use it for yahoo chat rooms (always found my true love there for about 2 days at at time it seemed, lol) and yahoo games (pool ftw) back in my pre-teen years.

Yahoo Finance is still one of the most active sites for financial discussions.

I actually agree with:

Surprise right? We agree a lot. We must have a beer some time NJBest.

I use to DESPISE Yahoo. I only got a Yahoo address because I signed up for ATT DSL.
After a few years it actually became *gasp* my primary email. That was before I went 100% webmail and still used a mail client so I didn't ever need to go to their site.

But a strange thing happened when I got my new laptop. Decided to revisit Yahoo and give them another chance.
And... I LIKE it!
I think it loads fast, it's easy to read, I never have any problems like the OP mentioned.
I also gave Bing another try. Don't hate it anymore either.
But Yahoo is... seriously.. my home page on my personal system.

I think I have Google burnout.

Agree about the Finance portal for portfolio monitoring. Their news portal can be good if customized with RSS feeds.

It sounds like the OP doesn't like the choices that Yahoo makes for news. Those are going to be driven by choices that attract clicks. Thus, the stories they choose will be prurient and laden with celebrity news.
