I always figure that a little security goes a long way for personal security, for the simple reason, why would anyone bother putting a lot of effort into some decent security when there is so much low hanging fruit that can be picked without effort.

Hmmmm...... don't let your fingers go off typing without supervision.

What I "meant" to say, why would a hacker spend any time trying to hack someone that has implemented security when there are so many to don't bother, or don't know they should. Same principle as when you see a guy going through a crowded parking lot trying to open car doors. They are only looking for those that didn't bother to implement even basic protection, i.e. locking the doors
