Can anyone explain this program to a not so computer savvy person?

If one signs up for this program, can they actually have access to any & all passwords used by anyone that uses that computer? Can they have access to other non-aol accts, such as Facebook, Yahoo, G-mail, Bank accounts, etc...?

I know someone who's spouse has just installed this aol program who is concerned about that. They fear said spouse will have access to personal info & bank accounts that could potentially harm them, especially if said spouse can access the money. TIA!

AOL rule number one, never, ever install any AOL software on your computer... ever.

From what I can gather, this software is nothing more than centralized password storage

If that is what you're looking for, there are far better options, such as LastPass, if you have your heart set on using AOL's software, refer to rule number one above.

What would be the problem w/aol software? I've never installed any of their programs & have no desire to do so in the future. The question is for a friend of mine. There's some problems in the marriage & my friend is afraid the spouse will have access to all bank accts, email & their FB account. They are pretty paranoid about that.

If that is the case the very first thing you should suggest to your friend is stop using ANY service that is shared with spouse, especially one that shares passwords amongst applications.

Next suggestion to tell them is change EVERY one of their passwords.

Last suggestion:

How do I uninstall AOL OnePoint?

Other than the fact that they have a history of releasing extremely buggy, bloated software, AOL is not a security company, they are a content provider. Not only are they a bad choice for such services, from what I can see you have to be a paying customer to use it, there are far better options that cost nothing.
