People whine and complain there aren't enough laws and regulations preventing Internet bullying and want more passed, BUT......

Just how would these laws and regulations be enforced?

How would they be enforced if the bullying is taking place across International borders?

Now we'll see just how many people understand how the Internet works.....

We know how the internet works.

Internet bullying...well that depends. If you know who is behind it then it's pretty easy to enforce whatever laws you want. Since you were probably posting on the thread where the teenage girl killed herself it's easy to see that the guy who made her boobs his profile pic on FB after trying to blackmail her would likely be easy to find. And since we are moving away from open wifi to "lock it down" mode we can usually find out where things are originating too. The fact that my ISP knows if I download from a foreign torrent site tells me there isn't much that can't be discovered if there is $ in it for someone.

Sure, there are ways around everything, but the average "bully" isn't all that bright. These are not master criminals here, it's usually kids or mentally unstable stalkers.

So you are depending on the bullie to report the bully to?

~ The DMCA?

~ The FBI?

~ Interpol?

~ Federal'naya sluzhba bezopasnosti Rossiyskoy Federatsii?

Ummmm, blackmail is a federal offense and has no bearing on bullying....

Open wifi? Lock it down? What kool-aid are you drinking?
