Is there more than one cable service in your area? Generally there isn't.

Don't you think you'd get better responses by posting this in the Columbus Ohio forum?

I live in a small town (Huntsville, Al) and we have three cable companies here. In most parts of town, you have the choice of two companies.

I am sure that we aren't unique here

That is the exception rather than the common reality.

Probably not unique, but I suspect your situation is an uncommon exception.

When I was living in each of two different Twin Cites suburbs, for example, we had Time Warner. I think that whole area has been bought out by Comcast since I moved to Atlanta.

Here in the Atlanta suburbs, we had Charter in Smyrna, and Comcast here in Mableton ... no other cable choice in either location. Thankfully, we also have AT&T U-Verse here in our subdivision as an option.
