Hi, I'm not computer illiterate, but I really don't know much about computer security when it comes to the internet. What exactly should I be doing to protect my laptop? For the past 8 or so months, I keep getting my Google searches redirected. I usually use a program to remove the virus/trojan, but it always pops back a few months later. Also, I tend to get other random trojans every few months. I have McAfee and CCleaner on my computer. I have firewalls and I use (what I think) are the highest security settings on my browser. Is there anything else I should be doing? Am I doing something wrong/dumb? Just a few hours ago, I turned on Firefox and began searching with Google. I right-clicked a reputable link to a website that I always go to, and was redirected to a junk site. After that, I added Adblock Plus and NoScript add-ons as recommended by a friend. Are these any good and will they help? I am just tired of having my laptop picking up so many bugs and having my searches redirected. Today was the second time this month that I have been having trouble with this. I am starting to think that maybe it is something hidden in my computer itself. *edit* I also have Malwarebytes on my laptop. My father installed it when he tried to fix my laptop a few weeks back. It is only a trial, and it detected a trojan and got rid of it, I think. Is MWB any good?
