Most cloud-file-storage sites only offer you a few free gigs of file space. Now box.com is offering 50-gigs free! Use their service to backup your files in cyberspace, or share files with others. No Dell account is apparently needed to sign up.
I signed up for Box when they offered this promo in the past.
No # required then.
I never use it. I still use DropBox as my #1. They integrate with my phone and PC better then Box does.
Like I joked about it, you could pretty much give any phone number as long as it is legit. I am sure you all have someone or some business you dislike?
I do not use any high tech phones or devices. All I cared about was having a large, permanent online storage for files/utilities that I could access easily in case I didn't have my flash drive with me.
The only drag I run into so far is they limit the number of upload files to 100, other than that, it looked fine to me. Of course, I wouldn't put any private files or files that have no other backups.
I'm thinking that the phone number requirement is due to the fact that the link goes to a Dell Loyalty Advantage member signup page.
It's probably used as verification since it's an exclusive offer.
Well what ever the reason, I won't provide my phone number for any web sign ups, don't really need it anyway, have my own 1TB of storage on my Synology available to me in my own private cloud.
