I have had no issues with spam for yrs until now....receiving 30 or so a day....
A friend sent me an email telling me to change my password, as he had received a suspicious message from my email address. I did so, but the spam count continues to be very high each day.
What happened and what should I do? It is just one of my email addresses that gets these spam, others are ok.
Thanks so much for the suggestion...that was my only thought too. I have Norton products in place....so was surprised that only this address was affected.
I read today the new and changing ways spammers/criminals are using to get into computers
30 a day isn't bad if you think about it. Deleting them is best. If you were getting 300 a day or so, yea, then it takes forever to delete them.
Chances are you are using a Yahoo email account. It seems Yahoo email accounts have been hacked a lot lately through the instant chat feature. I know lots of people I have sent email to in the past on Yahoo accounts have been sending me spam. Simply delete those and do not click on the links, I think the spam goes through your mailing list and spams your recipients on Yahoo, at least.
Yahoo's email system has not been managed very well due to lots of layoffs for a few years already, and with that in mind, I suspect their email servers are a spammers/scammer's paradise for some to do no good.
I didn't want to start another thread. I've noticed that most of my email addresses are getting more spam as well (and really, really vulgar language in them!) - anybody noticed an increase? No idea how they get the emails but I have had them for many years.

My email is the same old AOL ones that I've had forever. I really have noticed this increase in the last several months (they put some in spam, but some gets through). I just didn't want to change email addresses.
Hmm... good question (I need to find out, LOL) - they get some but not all.
