My neighbors had their own wifi...until I got a new box and forgot to add a password . Now, they all canceled their internet and using mine. I know that because the orginal list of 4-5 internet losts is now down to 2. I added a password and they didnt get affected. How can I kick them off? Nice job neighbors .
Make sure you are using WPA2. If you set up WPA2 with a strong password, you should be fine. The neighbors will not be able to connect to your network.
It's possibly to crack WPA2 but it's so time consuming that no one is going to bother just to get free internet. If you suspect they are breaking in, change your password daily for a few weeks and that will get them to stop.
Don't use WEP... that can be cracked in under a minute.

They are already using it. I forgot to add a password when I hooked up the internet.
IF you have people piggybacking off of your wi-fi with a VPN then you also won't see them on your network. Just fyi...
This is wrong. You will see them on your network. You just won't be able to make sense of the data going through the VPN tunnel. At that point, you're dealing with scum, though. Someone who is likely dealing with illegal activities such as child porn or piracy.
