Advertisements

These things are the worst creation ever. Nothing worse than trying to read a webpage and have a giant ad come flying in from some direction and take up the whole screen. To make matters worse they hide the close or X button so you have to look at the stupid ad longer than you would have liked.

I'm not going to get into how painful it is when you see these on a cellphone. It's bad enough on a computer monitor!

Anyone else love these things as much as I do?

Add no-script to that.

Another trick is saving the story to Pocket. Honestly though, poor web page design has made me avoid using a tablet for much of any surfing. When you have limited connection and CNN wants to start right up with streaming their broadcasts, AND slap on ads, and give pretty pictures most of the time I'm gone before the page is even partly loaded. Other places are worse.

I see very few ads if any. There are methods to get rid of them, Mr. Geek
You see them on your phone when you get free apps. They are supported by the ads. If that bothers you - get paid apps instead.
Free stuff on the Internet is usually supported by ads...
