I signed into Yahoo messenger and got a pop up messege from Yahoo messenger saying they have disabled some functions of my YM for safety reasons, that I need to login to reset them following a login link provided. I noticed "Yahoo messenger" has been added to my contact list?
Has anyone got this messege pop up from yahoo messenger before or its a fake messege?

Well if the link they gave you IS AN OFFICAL YAHOO LINK (No possibly of anyone trying to get your info) I would click the link and see what happens....

Good luck!

I'm not so sure about your suggestion since I won't know if its official link until I click on it. Anyway I didn't use the link but logged in manually, later signed back in YM which I noticed "Yahoo messenger" is gone from my contact list. Strange, seems no one else out there has this issue.

Beware of any message that asks you to click a link and enter password or other personal info; most of them are phishing scams.

I have been getting the message for days every time i sign on. I too do not trust any unexpected embedded link. The link looks legit but i still don't trust it.

i have signed in to my account, checked it, changed password and still get the message next time i sign in.

Yes that's what I got. I also signed into my account manually to check but still getting it whenever I sign into messenger. So what did you do to stop the message? At least I know it's not just me getting it, how to stop this issue?
