Incorrect. Smaller companies may use it for remote access. Home businesses may use it for local access while they're outside the office, plenty of legit purposes.
I didn't say there weren't legit purposes for dynamic DNS, just that most businesses don't run web servers out of their office, attached to a dynamic IP address.

MS just opened itself up to a class action lawsuit by the owners of the innocent affected websites. It doesn't have the same protections that out-of-control police have when a warrantless search ends up in the wrong house, killing innocents. I predict a feeding frenzy by lawyers.
Legit companies don't host with dynamic IP providers, they use hosting companies or static IP addresses.
Actually most hosting companies use shared hosting which is Dynamic hosting due to the extra cost of static ip hosting. Companies like iPage, FatCow and many others main hosting service is dynamic ip (Shared) hosting. You have to pay extra for a static ip. Most of the smaller companies don't spring for dedicated hosting because it is more money and many small businesses are trying to cut corners to compete. Static IP (dedicated) hosting is the best by far and even helps search engine rankings but many people cut corners not knowing the real differences. There were even some fortune 500 companies that were affected by the MSFT seizure. I agree that it needed to be done but I was just saying they should have been a bit more precise in their actions.

Shared hosting is not Dynamic. Shared servers still have static IP addresses, they just share the same address among all of the sites on the server.
