We have had U-Verse internet for the past year after switching from AT and T DSL. It has worked well with their router for our Dell laptop and iPad for the WiFi. However, about a week ago, the signal strength has been varied from Excellent to Poor to no signal at all in the house. Up to that time, it was fine. I wondered if our router is going bad or was it U-Verse and the line into the house and their problem? I am ready to call them about renewing our special pricing plan anyway as it expires at the end of this month. Since it is intermittent, it is hard to predict.
I can have no signal in one room but then go to the study where the modem and router are located and then get fair to good signal.
Okay so regular cable, and he is using his own router to provide 'Wifi'. Got it.
Then clearly the only strong signal exists inside his house. As he steps away from his house the signal fades.
Not cable at all, but an ISP similar to cable. The AT&T "modem" is a hybrid device that contains a wired and wireless router.
The OP clearly states that the problem is with the signal inside the house.
