I'm having trouble making comments on people's rep b'c when I click on the scale, the little comment screen doesn't come up. Instead, I have to right click on the link and open it in a new tab or select "open link". It has to be a settings issue since I formatted my hard drive over the weekend and everything is in default settings. Anybody wanna help me trouble shoot?
Here's a link to the orignal post I made in the Admin forum b'c I thought it was a general problem not just an issue that I'm having:

Thanks a bunch y'all.

you say you tried right clicking on the scale in the upper right and selecting open link in new window and it does not allow you to leave a comment?

When I right click on the scale, I can select "Open Link" or "Open Link in New Tab" and it will take me to the comments page but if I left click, nothing happens. When you left click, a little menu thing comes out where you can type in a comment instead of having to go to another page/link, which is what I'm stuck doing right now. Does that make sense? Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining things!

No your explanation makes sense. Sometimes I have this problem (where you left click and nothing happens) when I pay bills online and I click the "print this page" link to make a copy of my confirmation and then nothing happens. I have never figured out why it works sometimes and not others. I usually bypass it by pressing Cntrl and P. Let me play around a bit with the settings....I am drawing a blank...but then again...I couldnt figure out how to leave comments for reputations at all until last week. But thats what I get for not reading ther FAQ stuff for city data.

lol, thanks Smrai, I appreciate your help. Yeah, it's weird b'c the little pop menu is working on other pages, just not on city-data. I don't remember ever changing any settings before formatting my harddrive so I'm confused as to why it's not working now (after I've formatted and restored to defaults). <shrug>

Has this been going on since you formatted the hard drive on Saturday? Have you restarted your computer since then? What Internet Explorer version are you running? Have you checked to make sure it is all up to date? Sometimes stupid glitches happen like this. I cant find anything in IE settings. I do not think City data has settings that would affect the browser like this.
By the way I just saw your post...what little pop up thingie are you referring to that affects other sites and not city data....
Dont you love our technical jargon?

Yup, I've restarted several times since I formatted and I'm using IE 7. I don't even know what those things are called or else I'd try to do a search online or on IE support. It's not really a popup. Thanks anyway.

did you try going into the City data "My settings" tab, clicking on Edit options and scrolling down to the bottom to the reset Fields tab?

Took your advice to reset but that didn't solve the problem either. I can't imagine what the problem is!

How about logging off of City Data, deleting your cookies, history and temporary internet files and then restarting...then go to city-data.com again and log back in fresh.
