Instagram seems to be like Facebook with fewer ways to comment or message, or like Pinterest.
Why do users like it so much? Perhaps people just want to load and view images and don't like all the Facebook features?
In a lot of Twitter or Facebook feeds, people post a link to an Instagram image instead of putting the image in FB or Twitter. Don't know why.

Instagram on a desktop has very few features.
Twitter doesn't let you post enough words which makes discussions difficult, I prefer Google+ for that reason. As for instagram, there doesn't seem to be a limit to commenting and it's not as cluttered as Facebook, you can also use a filter to make the photos look better.

Twitter is fine if you want to get news updates but far as having a discussion it doesn't work due to the limited of words in each tweet.
I kind of have a love/hate relationship with Instagram. I like taking pictures and keeping up with friends, but, as with any other social media site, I don't like the drama and dealing with narcissistic people. Like, it's amazing how social media can get in to people's heads, but I think that's why it's a good idea to take a break from it every once in a while.
AFAIK you can only post Instagrams from iPhones or iPads with iOS operating systems. There are apps to read/view Instagrams on PCs or Macs, but you still have to have an iOS based Instagram account.
So those of us not into all things Apple, are locked out.

Why would a younger person want to be on Facebook with all his elderly relatives spying on him and gossiping about all his posts? Its why I left FB and never looked back. I understand FB's appeal to the elderly to stalk their friends and family but its not something younger people want.

Odd.
I thought the whole point of Facebook was to allow friends (and family) to know whatever you wanted to share with them.
And can't you control what "friends" see by various privacy settings ?
