Someone started spreading false information over social media website(s). This information is being passed to family, friends and all around the community where I live. This has been going on for about 4 years. I have witnessed people videotaping and/or taking pics of me on my personal property and in public places (dr offices, grocery store, parking lots, and possibly when I had jury duty). Believe someone is pretending to be me on social media website(s). Since there are so many how can you find out if this is the case? The other day a man called my landline and said he was from some dating service and said he was sending a man over to my house... I hung up while he was still talking. Then he called back; I did not answer my phone. So I also believe someone posted or has created an on-line dating profile(s) pretending to be me. I also believe that whoever is doing this may be having conversations with these people and the people are believing they are talking to me. I deleted the on-line dating profiles I had 3 to 4 years ago. Basically around when all this started happening. I am aware that my email address was comprised with an on-line breach of a software company and with an on-line dating website that I never heard of or belonged to. At one point my computer would not turn on. I got it fixed and after the fix all personal documents were gone. Everything else was still there, software, templates, music, pictures, etc.

Is there a way to find out how this is happening? Also, is there a way these social media website(s) have tracking capabilities? For example using someone license plate number and posting it on-line. Any help would be appreciated.

Consider using 'Google Alerts' to search the internet for your name. Google Alert can do the search every day and email you the results. This can give you an idea of how much of 'you' is on the web.

Then any website that has someone fraudulently posting stuff about you, you contact and ask that they delete it.
