For some reason, whenever I try to use Google Drive with a different account, it says I must sign out of all other accounts and then sign in to that one. Why can't I use multiple accounts at once?
What I end up having to do is use different accounts on different browsers, but that is inconvenient. Does anyone know of a better option?

Yes, stick with the same browser. Each browser has it's own settings. Do not expect one browser to know the other's login info. It doesn't work that way.
Each google account has it's own google drive. It is your drive. Why would it be shared with any other account?
It should work. I do it all the time. I have 2 personal and 2 work accounts, so I have quite a bit of experience with juggling multiple Google accounts.
You should be able to get around any restrictions by opening the second one in an anonymous/incognito window.
