I have a job, and I do not want my employer to know that I have a small business.

My question is how can one have a Facebook business page without the identity of the personal account / profile being known?

My understanding is that all Facebook personal accounts and profiles must represent people only and not businesses or anything else. That means you can only create a Facebook business page with a Facebook personal account / profile that uses your real name and personal info. How can you get around this?

I don't want my business page linked to my real name. I don't want to risk the chance of my employer finding out that I have an outside business.

This is not how it works. Yes, you need a personal account to create a business Facebook account... you cannot just start an account AS a business. But, for example, I run my company FB page and there's no way to actually see that I am the one running it.

What settings do you use so that no one sees who is running the FB business page?

There are no settings, really. Baked in. You create a page as a business owner. Then you switch between your personal account and the business. When you switch to the business account and post something it only shows the business posted, not Joe posted TO the page.
There is no link between the personal page and the business. Only if you post to the page from your personal page.
I'm really simplifying it but it really is that easy. I can explain a little better next week.
