I'll be moving shortly and am contemplating having an internet-only plan and using Sling. Across multiple TVs what gets you is not only the cable bill but the per-device rental charge for each box. I already have Fire TV Sticks.

On top of our FIOS Internet we pay about $20 a month for basic cable (150 or so channels) and $10 a month fee for a basic no frills HD cable box (we own the router) with no recording ability. That's only $30 on top of what we would pay for Internet anyway. We use it in the main living area to keep up with sports, news and local channels. Then we use Netflix and Amazon Prime everywhere else via Smart TVs, and a Home Theater PC in our Theater Room. We also have a DLNA NAS box hooked up to our router that gives us access to all of my downloaded media as well. We're paying around $100 a month for all of this, and we have more content than we could ever want to watch and fantastic Internet speeds. I don't see how SlingTV could be a better alternative for us. There's no way Directv or Dish could compete on top of FIOS Internet.

We use Sling Blue. We can watch it on any of our 3 TV’s (2 have FireSticks, one has a Fire box) or on our Ipads. The DVR works great. The channel guides could be better, not as simple as our old cable TV’s layout, but its a much better price.
We get the occasional hiccup where the program will briefly stutter, (at the top of the hour?) but its almost unnoticeable. We don’t subscribe to HBO, or any of the movie pkgs thru sling, though we subscribe to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime for movies separately.
(We also have our own router and cable modem).
All in all, it’s a much better option than cable was for us.

It may not be better for you, but for some of us it's a much better option. I pay $60 a month for 50Mbps internet, with no other options other than satellite or DSL. The second to lowest TV package was going to cost me $120 a month after the intro rate expired, paying DTVN $50 a month I'm sure you'll agree is a better alternative. Not everyone has the options you have.
I have had it a couple times and it's OK. Not great but OK. They snookered me twice by telling me they were streaming the World Series but both times they told me after the fact that it was not in my area. Strange because I was not in a black out area of any kind. The games were over 1000 miles away.
Thanks for the insight everyone. Still investigating options. What doesn’t thrill me are their streaming limitations - I have 5 TVs in the home. Are the simultaneous stream limitations by plan or channel?
The stream count is usually per account/plan. DTVN currently allows 2 streams total but rumor is they'll be upping that to 3 some time in Q1 2018.
