Sorry for the vague topic. Possibly its been hashed out many times here, but I am not very savvy about such things.
I created a Facebook account just over a year ago to list a few items on a local classifieds page. All worked OK for a while, but then it locked me out, saying my email could not be verified. Now I'm stuck in a never-ending cycle....I can't verify my email because I can't log in. However, I do get email notices about my attempts to log in. I can't get farther into "assistance" type options. I can do nothing with this account because I can't verify my email. I tried creating a new user account (using a different email provider), but as my personal detail info is still the same it tells me it can't create a duplicate account. I don't use Facebook to communicate so its not that important to me from day to day. But I can't log in to change anything, change the email, stop the annoying unsolicited inbox filler, get rid of the entire mess.
Any suggestions? If so, please express them for the novice, clueless unsophisticated idiot level. Thank you!
You don't 'verify your email' by logging into Facebook. When FB verifies your email... it sends you an email. You click the link in that email to prove you can access that email address.

Ah yes, apologize for the confusion. I did do this exactly as requested. Facebook informed me that there was an "error" and that they were unable to connect to my email. Over and over again the same problem.
