50 years ago today, Ken Kleinrock, a UCLA professor, sent the first internet message.

I've known "about" the internet for 35 years and I've been using it for 28 years. How about the rest of you?

HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY INTERNET!

I think I've been using it since the early 90's as well, boy time flies!

I still have that dial-up modem noise ingrained into my memory.

I've been using the Internet since around 1990, when I recall CompuServe allowed email exchange and a few other features to connect and search. My CompuServe ID had 5 digits before the comma, 3 after.

I started using a dial-up ISP in 1994 and that's when I got a dedicated email address.

Got my oldest email that I still use (Hotmail) in 1997.

First broadband connection in 2000.

Got my Gmail account in 2005.

First fiber connection around 2010.

First gigabit connection in 2018
