I am in the process of setting up Roku on my TV. I got to the point where it asked me to select my network and enter my passcode. The next screen it shows " i checking" and immediately entered a green check mark for wireless connection and internet connection. The only other link on this screen is to select cancel.

Some on line research tells me that it should be updating the Roku software and then come back with a link code. However, it has been sitting on this screen for 45 minutes and nothing is happening. None of the controls on the Roku control are responding - so I can't even get out of this screen by navigating to the cancel button on the screen.

I can turn off the TV with the TV remote and can turn it back on and move to TV. If I move to the HDMI1 input it just takes me back to the same Roku screen. The Ruko remote keys are not responding.

Is it just a very long process to update the Roku software or is the screen frozen? Not sure what to do next.

Well, it took me more than seven hours from start to finish, but, I finally figured it out and Roku is installed and working.

The problem above I was able to resolve by disconnecting the Roku, removing the batteries from the Roku remote and starting from the beginning. Go to the point where it finally gave me a code to complete the set up.

I was almost home until I tried going on line to get the Roku link to enter my code and the code failed. (Turned out I was on a copycat link and did not realize it.) The access code failed and directed me to call a number to resolve. Big mistake. I eventually got nervous as I gave her control to try to find the issue - which she said was with my router. I ended the call. I tried generating a new code on the TV and this time used my cell phone to go online. Similar problem with failed access code. This person told me there would be a charge to repair - I ended the call.

On the third try for a new code I got back on my computer and instead of googling the web site I entered it directly in as a www. address. That got me directly to the real Roku site to link up my account.

The entire process of learning how to set up my 6 year old TV for internet access and then installing the Roku and activating it started at 9am and now it is after 4pm! But, I kept trying and it is finally done! I am exhausted!
