Any problems with Zoom are becoming irrelevant for the vast majority of users. Over the past 30 days they have made improvements that eliminate zoombombing and they just bought a security company.

Zoom just purchase Keybase (an industry leading cryptography company). There's serious concern in the industry about the integrity of Keybase as it is in Zoom's hands. Security experts are now suggesting people cease the use of the app.
I'm not a techie by a long shot. I recall La Porte saying the reason Jitsi was more secure is because it's your own server or it's own server or something, which Zoom isn't. That may make sense to you geeks.
Running something from your own server has benefits in that you are taking third parties out of the loop. The security concerns however move from the third party provider(video conferencing in this case) to the server which itself may be provided by third party. These larger companies have an army of engineers to deal with security issues and benefit from proprietary custom software/systems that are not easily tested for vulnerabilities, not so much for small company with handful of IT personnel using common off the shelf hardware/software.
It's a moot point for me, since my church is using Zoom for Sunday School. My webcam arrived sooner than expected, so my classmates are able to both see and hear me.
I've been tempted to tell them that I never bought a webcam in the past because I am not a cute young female with a hot body, but I'm not sure my sense of humor would go over well.

You do understand of course that it's not the app that Zoom wants...it's the expertise of the team.
