So I am wondering if anyone can educate or enlighten me about egift cards - and what would prevent them from being processed, sent or delivered. I have had the same email address for years and it has never had any issues sending or receiving mail of any type. And I get spam too and check that several times a day. I wasn't sure if my email was the problem but one of the people sending the cards to me said to try a different address so I created another email - which I sure didn't need since I already have so many usernames and passwords to keep track of - and that did not work either.
I honestly do not know whether the email address is the problem or not. All I know is that when the people sending the cards try any number of sites - like Egifter, cashstar, gfitcards.com GCG, etc....the order initially goes fine but it never processes and eventually gets declined and nothing ever happens.
Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? I can't find any information about it anywhere and nobody seems to know what to do.
I would simply avoid trying to use egift cards. There are so many better ways to transfer cash or value than this. More often than not this type of issue can contain fraud and scams on users.
Check yous spam settings from email provider if you have any. Make sure everything is sent to spam if labeled as spam, there may be options to just delete and it never makes it to your email box. You may have setting for different levels there as well. Email is scored using scoring system, 1 point because this is wrong, half a point for this etc. If the total goes above threshold it will get labeled spam. Strong filtering will mark more things as spam but false positives happen more.
Another possibility is your email provider is using an inappropriate IP block list. There is list available for specific tasks, e.g. if you were business you might want to block email from sources like this. It should not be used for consumer email. You can contact their support and ask.
