Any ideas on what is a good Internet Security Suite for home use? Mcafees, Norton, Trend Micro, Kaspersky. There are so many at a wide range of prices and no definitive winner as best product.
Any ideas or opinions? What makes the product best?
I use ZoneAlarm. Used to use Norton. Norton sucks. I've been very pleased with the protection from ZA, less pleased with the update process. They seem to insist on an update whenever they feel like it. With one year subscriptions in place I've been informed I need to update in 4 months and 8 months on two computers.
Love the program, hate the update process. Support seems to be manned by a group of morons.
If you have multiple PCs, I'd use Windows Live One Care, and the reason is that it has an upgraded firewall from the basic windows one, anti-virus solution, back-up solution, and is seamlessly connected with your automatic updates.
Pick one. ICSA is an independent lab that certifies security products based on some fairly rigorous testing. Of course, just because something isn't listed doesn't mean it failed.. they may have never submitted their solution to be tested.
Also, this is more enterprise based.. so it may not apply as much for home use.

Don't waste your money on Norton, McAffee, et al. They are overrated and serious resource hogs.
As Radek said, Avast AV and Zone Alarm work great and don't cost a dime.
I'll also throw in SpywareBlaster . It will keep malicious Active X controls and websites from infecting your machine to begin with. It runs silently in the background and only requires weekly updates.

Actually SpywareBlaster has no resident protection, you run it, apply updates and enable protection, and close it, no portion of it runs in the background.
Ive been using bit defender for about 6 months and love it. Light on system resources, and works great. Used Trend Micro - PCcillin for years with great results, but it just got too bloated. You can download free trial versions of Kaspersky and Bit Defender and Nod32. Check Amazon for deals.
If you are willing to pay check out Eeyes Blink suite. I have previous used Avast, and AVG--both free and paid versions. The blink software found things that the others missed. Great software, small footprint
