New rental and looking for a security system to monitor the outside and private hallway. Partly security and partly to make sure the landlord isnt entering without permission BUT anything without a monthly fee like Ring seems to rely on wifi snd the landlord shares wifi so its the same password.
Just security cameras alone in a passive mode, I wouldn't be too concerned, but there is a very remote possibility a knowledge hacker could get control of them.
As I mentioned in your other thread, your best best is to get the Verizon internet. However, if your kid (who you said this is for in one of your other threads) is renting a room in a private residence, may not be able to affix video cameras in this location. The owner has a RIGHT to go anywhere in his/her home and has a right to deny any video cameras anywhere on his/her property by a sub lessee. Your best and only option is to have cameras set up INSIDE the room your kid is renting. NOT inside of the hallway as that is a "common" area.
