I post interesting links I find, or random updates about how I'm feeling if I've had a particularly frustrating or good experience. I don't go into detail about my life, or post more than once or twice a day (and I often go days without posting at all). I use Twitter as a way to update my Facebook status; none of my friends are on Twitter, so I use it as a form of entertainment and news, following people with interesting things to say.
We use it for work, too; our website has a Twitter account and we post links to our blog posts and other goings-on.
I downloaded a widget for my dashboard on my Mac and update it throughout the workday. It's also linked with my Facebook status so one updates automatically whenever I update the other. Plus it's linked with my phone.
I put up interesting links to stuff I find, and use it to connect with some local folks who use it a lot. I have a few friends and colleagues on there as well.
I've been twittering for over a year. I'm taking a break from it these past two weeks because I wasn't getting my online work done. I use it mostly to promote my blogs, learn about new things online, keep in touch with friends and share links.
