what are the things called that u can put on your wireless routers antenna to make the signal go in one direction

thats what the cap thing is that you can put on the antenna to make the signal go in one direction? if it is thanks cuz i wanted to get one just didnt know what it was called

Well if you can unscrew the antennas that shipped with your router then you can purchase something like this and attach it:

Those are called Cantennas due to originally being made from Pringles cans, coffee cans, etc. You can buy some more professional looking ones that resemble an old fashioned outdoor TV antenna turned on its side.

I'm not familiar with any little cap things that go on existing router antennas. you could always slap a small parabolic shaped object behind it I and face it in the direction you want it to go I guess.
