I went to Wikipedia and saw the appeal for donations today and I actually did gove them a donation. This is the first time ever I have donated money to a specific internet content provider. But it was my feeling that this site has been very good to me and my family. My kids have used it many times for homework help and it sure as hell beats the old days when rich parents shelled out $2000 for a set of Encyclopedia Brittanica while poor kids like us did without. Well worth the $25 I gave them!

Wikipedia is a great quick resource but I wouldn't encourage my kids to use it as a source for homework. Anyone can edit the entries at Wikipedia and no one officially checks for accuracy.

I have no problem with donating to any site that you find useful but your kids really should verify elsewhere any information they get from Wikipedia.
