About 90% of the websites I want to go to I am unable to get to. Then the others and citydata is one I can use no problem, emails work fine too.
Only just started happening to me and only happens for about an hour on each occasion. Any Ideas what I should do to correct this?

We need more information. What browser? What happens when you try those websites? Do you get an error? Do you see part of the page, but it stops loading?

First of all, I would try a different browser. Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Opera, and see if you can get to the sites on any of them.

All using the same connection? If you move the laptop to a different network/internet connection, do you get the same problem?

Problem in the router/firewall/ISP. I would call your Internet provider and tell them you can't get to some sites. It sounds like a problem either on their end, or in their modem/router. They should be able to troubleshoot it.

This assumes your internet connection is a corporate business connection and they aren't purposefully restricting access to some sites.

A wireless router can sometimes do what your talking about.
I have one sitting on my desk that does the same thing.
I can't go directly to the site but if I do a search and click the link it works fine. If I bypass the router it works fine also. The engineers and tech support can't figure it out.
Their solution. Get a new router.
