I currently have Time Warner cable internet that charges me $42/month for 10-15Mbps speed and I also have Verizon Wireless with my iPhone 4S (limited to 2GB data usage) that charges me $80 for a total of $120. I checked my land internet usage and it averages about 70GB per month and my cell usage is around 200-300MB/month. I don't use my cell much for voice but mostly data and SMS.
I am shortly planning to upgrade my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S4 (when it comes out) with 4G LTE and was wondering if there was a provider that has 100GB/month of data (or unlimited) and if it was practical to have just one Wireless internet provider that I could share between my land usage and my cell phone rather than having 2 separate providers....any such thing?
I know T-Mobile has unlimited data right? Is this truly unlimited...say if I use 80GB in one month? How is 4G performance, I have heard it can be faster than a land line, is this true?
I've got 4G LTE via Verizon. It is much faster than dial-up, but is spotty in some locations. It will sometimes drop back to 3G.
Some plans make you pay extra if you want to tether your phone to offer net access to other devices. Supposedly, you can also root your phone and get tethering for no additional charge (not legal, though).
Someone I know pays for tethering and uses his phone for home net access.
