Exxon is the AT&T of the energy industry. And we know your long time feelings on AT&T which was down again yesterday. I bought 200 more shares on Monday, holding 400 total at a break even in the low $28's.
And there's that fat dividend.....

Hypothetically speaking... will you change your mind if Warren Buffett buys XOM?

No ,especially after the below par returns Berkshire has had for more than a decade.

I would not even own Berkshire for a core position

Aren’t you guys happy that you didn’t listen to Mathjack and bought XOM near all time low? This stock almost doubled ever since.

Why would anyone bash the best oil company with the strongest balance sheet is beyond me? Maybe because he is clueless?

Over 80% return in like 6 months or so not counting dividend, I'll take it.

Great for anyone who bought this year …it was and still is a terrible stock for anyone who owned it prior .

Just awful returns for this stinker

With dividends it lost 2.2% cagr the last 3 years , lost 2.31% cagr the last 5 years , didn’t even return 1% cagr the last 10 years , and returned 2.94 the last 15 years.

AND THAT INCLUDES IT DOUBLING THIS YEAR and all dividends reinvested.

A bond fund did better if you owned this dog prior to the last year …those who invested the last 3 ,5 ,10 ,15 years either lost money or didn’t even see a 1% average return if they held this dog and that includes this years Great return which only happened because the pandemic dragged it so low any recovery had to see it pop.

Even a blind squirrel gets lucky and finds an acorn eventually
