8.81% seems extremely good to me, much better than "decent," especially with regards to munis. I am wondering if I'm missing something... i.e. risk?

Will do more research, though..
RF take a look at Vanguard's Tax Free Muni VWAHX yielding 5.03%. It does own a number of highly rated munis across the country so at least some of the dividends will likely be taxable.

I went back into HIG last week at $11.59. This is my fifth time in this stock this year and I have made money the previous four times. I like the company and the stock is still well under its book value.

I've been looking at a few new ones. NGG, MO, RAI, WIN and PCH. All have room to grow price wise, and their dividends are intriguing. Thoughts?

I've got MO, check out DUK as well. They've paid a nice div for many years. Ex-div date is coming up soon though, buy now!

Sold off SUN and BAC recently.

Gamestop (GME). Good company but pulled down by the state of retail in general. 52 week high of $59 and right now trading at around $24. Owns the video game space in malls all around the country.

AK Steel (AKS). 52 week high $73. Right now about a dollar above the 52 week low at $6.24. Possible takeover target. Only place to go is up.
Update on my first contribution to this thread (see page 1)

HIG - now trading at $21.79. I have been in and out several times and made a profit each time.

RODM - now trading at $1.70. I bought 30,000 shares (yep thirty thousand) when it was low . One broker is giving it a price target of $2.50

GME - pretty flat really and a disappointment. Trading at $25.04.

AKS - Another one where I sold at a profit and went back in. Now trading at $21.72.
