I haven't found any dealerships in Iowa City open on Sunday...then I started looking across the state and havent found any dealerships open on Sunday. Do the dealers in Iowa choose to close on Sunday or is there a Blue Law in Iowa that does not allow them to be open on Sunday?

I'm pretty sure in South Dakota, a lot and or most dealers close on Sunday, but I dont think there is a law regarding Sunday sales...

Thanks

Yes, there is a blue law on car sales in Iowa...it's against the law to close a car sale on Sunday. I once had a car salesman tell me this, but this car dealers website confirms it.

If Sunday is your only day to look, I think you would have no problem getting a dealer to meet you at the lot on Sunday and answer your questions (I think that's perfectly legal)...but you'd have to wait until a Monday to sign the papers.

Otherwise, a lot of people (me included) like to use Sunday as a day to go and look at cars without getting hounded by salesmen!

Default Thanks

thanks for the response. Sunday isnt the only day for me to shop, just thought it weird to not see the dealerships open on Sunday. I also like the idea of being able to go to a dealership in the daylight and just browse without sales folks around.

Sunday is great day to browse hassel free. You can check out cars on the lot without an overanxious salesman rushing out to harrass you
