Hi, this neighborhood is off of Rohert Rd. Rather large neighborhood surrunding weber. There is a landfill 3/4 mile away. Is this considered bad in Iowa City? I hear there was a fire at this landfill last year.

Yes, the fire was very bad last year and took quite a while to contain it. I've heard they have taken steps to prevent something like that from happening again. Personally, I can understand your concerns, but I don't know about the impact on the housing market in that area. Sorry, I can't be of more help.

We were in the same neighborhood last year before we sold our house in just 9 days after listing. Yes. The landfill fire was bad last year. But I heard they took very strict measures. Our daughter attended. Weber elementary for 3 years and she loved it. The whole west iowa city neighborhood is in good demand for medical residents and the like. So you won't be making bad decision at all if ur looking to make a home there.all the best to you.
