Hello Everyone:

We relocated to Cedar Rapids from Pennsylvania 3 months ago. We are in CR in a temporary rental with a month to month lease and about 90% of our stuff is in storage.

We are closing on a house in Marion in June. I am looking for local movers to do an "across town" move from our rental to the house.

We've all had horror stories when moving and I've watched my antiques come off the truck in pieces. So, I know going into this, it's a crap shoot. That being said, can anyone recommend a reliable, CAREFUL moving company that does local moves?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I highly recommend "Two Men and a Truck." It's been about 10 years since I last moved, but they moved me twice with no problems. I had a lot of nice furniture (first time moved me to the 3rd floor of an apartment with a heavy piano, and put the rest in storage until the second move a year later). I know of some others who have used them with good results, but it's been about 6 years ago. Might want to check current online reviews about them. Good luck!

I interviewed three companies and ended up with Three Men and a Truck. Seemed very professional. I'm crossing my fingers the move goes smoothly next month. Thank you for your suggestions.
