Supposedly there is a HUGE amount of retirees living in the Iowa City area, but where? I can't find them in Iowa City itself, but someone told me today that they live near some lake? Does anyone know where the retirees--especially the retired professors from the U. of Iowa--live?
They don't seem to be in Coralville either. I'm stymied.

I just read on this board (another post) that there is a sizeable amount of seniors living there. Can someone tell me where?

A lot of retired professors/UI higher-ups live in the Manville Heights neighborhood. Many more live north of Iowa City around Lake Macbride. That's the big lake you're hearing about.

There are a lot of those retirement condos around too. I want to say there's some off of Mormon Trek, but it's been a while and my memory is a little rusty.

Just looked up census data by census tract. The highest % of people over 65 are located between Scott Blvd, Rochester and Muscatine in Iowa City by a decent margin. Also areas behind Benton and Riverside.

Iowa City isn't that large. In the two years since this thread was posted TootsieWootsie could have probably driven around enough to find them

I'm from Maine but I have a relative who lives here: Oaknoll - An Adult Retirement Community

A LOT of people live there. It has all sorts of amenities. It's full of University of Iowa people.
