we are moving to Iowa City, daycare and apartment are close to the school. I am looking for a pediatrician for my son, who is 21 months old. We have opted out of immunizations, hes never used antibiotics, and we are really looking for someone that practices with a "light touch" with the absolute minimum of invasive or pharmeceutical interventions/procedures. Oh, and the other thing is we have title 19 for my son, or the state health insurance. We would prefer a D.O. Any suggestions?

So essentially, you're looking for a shaman. There's nothing progressive about that approach...it's quite the opposite actually, extraordinarily regressive.

You could find a plethora of witch doctors to subject your poor child to...in San Francisco, perhaps, or the Amazon basin.

There's a Dr. Jason Bradley that advertises on the local NPR station sometimes (Yes, I listen to NPR...) that sounds like the kind of thing you might be looking for.

You'd have to look him up though, I don't know anything beyond his name. I don't get sick too often, and I usually go to a...um....regular doctor.

Have you tried contacting your local LLL group to see if they have any recommendations? Also the MDC forums have a finding your tribe section and could probably give a few names. If you were in Cedar Rapids I could possibly help since out ped is pretty hands off.
