Hi everyone. This seems kinda silly because I'm an Iowa native who will be moving back to the area hopefully in a few months. I grew up outside of Iowa City, but go there frequently. Having said that, I have less knowledge on the residential side of things.

I'm looking for a place to rent(apt, condo, possibly house) for 2 or 3 people in their early/mid 20s. I'd say a range for rent would be 900-1200 for three and 600-800 for 2. We're not looking to live in the downtown area because of the high cost. It would be nice to live close to others our age though, and I was wondering if there are neighborhoods outside of downtown in Iowa City or Coralville where younger people would live. We do party but will probably be going downtown for that. But we also don't want to be confined to a place that's not welcome to younger guys.

I know to avoid the SE side, as I have a friend who used to live just east of Kmart. I heard some interesting stories. But looking on the web that seems to be where a lot of stuff is available (other than downtown of course).

I'm not familiar with rent prices but around Mormon Trek would be an option depending on demographic/price. I'm also aware of some nice places around the Coral Ridge area but I didn't know if that was mostly families/older people. It seems silly asking this as I am very familiar with the area, but I don't know a lot about rent and the types of people who live where outside of downtown(college kids) and parts of the west side where it's obvious a lot of doctors live lol. It seems like people here are really knowledgeable so I thought I'd give this a shot.
