Every other weds. at grocery stores/libraries/certain restaurants etc. the free paper 'The River Cities Reader' comes out, it has an excellent schedule and ads for all kinds of stuff.

Follow US.67 (River Dr./State St.) out past Le CLaire to Princeton,Ia and they have signs pointing you to a pumpkin Patch and hay rides. There are several others in the area, I just don't know where.

Nothing in either downtowns really as far as festivals for Halloween/Autumn goes...Dav. does a pretty big tree lighting for Christmas...You'll start seeing commercials pretty soon for the "Festival of trees".

This is perfect weather to go down to the farmers markets on Sat and weds mornings in the parking lot of Modern Woodman park in Dav. it ends this month, continues indoors all winter in the Freight House building. In a week or two, take a walk on the bike path to see the leaves changing. Or my favorite "Leaf spot" at Blackhawk state park in Rock Island.

Edit: Don't forget the haunted houses, They have 'em all over the QCA, we went to the one at the fairgrounds in Dav. last year, it was a good one.

I think there's supposed to be a good apple orchard fall festival thing in Cumming for the Central Iowa folks.
