I live in the Clinton area and are relocating to the Davenport area. My husband was thinking about the Buffalo,Iowa area. Didn't that area flood within the last 3 to 5 years? Also is it safe around the Nahant area to live ?

The riverfront flooded but I can't remember hearing about Buffalo homes get flooded.

I had to look up 'Nahant area Iowa', according to Mapquest I used to live near that area(I lived on the other side of river drive). Mapquest shows it being the name of a town. Never heard of it in my life and I grew up in the QC area.

It's kinda white trashy, but safe. On mapquest it shows the area being on the river near I-280, looks like S. Concord rd., that area will flood. That area uses a Dav. address.

I know there was a town, I thought around the Quad Cities, but don't remember where it was. Sorry I wasn't specific of where other than Nahant, where I need is near the railroad yard yet a safe place. Does "white trashy" mean run down ? Son might have a job with railroad. If it floods we might have to look more inward.

No worries, I just never heard of Nahant. Yeah it's run down but safe down in that area. It floods pretty much every year tho'. If you look up near Rockingham Rd. or anywhere across RiverDrive you won't have to worry about flooding.

They're doing a number on the downtown area. Lots of old buildings being turned into cool apt. buildings. Lots of lofts and what not. Quad City times website classifieds is your best bet.
