As a non-Iowan, I'm just curious as to the general consensus of the Iowan population (sans any biased polls from the media)

I may vote for Ron Paul, because I like his ideas on cutting the size of the federal government, to the point of eliminating entire agencies. RP is a constitutionalist, who believes in the limited powers of the federal government.

I agree with him in that we can't afford to be sending troops all over the world, and we need to cut foreign aid.

However, there is a slight chance yet, that I will vote for Romney just to vote against Gingrich.

In my opinion, Bachmann and Santorum can't beat the Obama/Liberal media political machine if they were to win the nomination.

Wish I could vote in your poll. It would be for Gingrich. Only reason I would vote for him is he has more electorability than Bachman. I am Republican, but I'll be one of the many that will say that none of the candidates really excite me. There is only one Republican candidate that could make me consider Obama and that's Ron Paul. His foreign policy ideas scare the crap out of me.

The fact that he wants to eliminate 5 departments and dump the responsibility on states scares the hell out of me. Have you been paying attention to how we've been doing lately? I can't imagine Iowa reps handling more responsibility and not screwing it up.

I don't like any of them and if the Republican party is not going to change I'm voting Obama.

Where's Gingrich?? That's who I'm voting for. Ron Paul's defense policies are wreckless. If we allow another terrorist attack to happen on our soil we will loose more freedoms than we could ever imagine. The rest of the candidates just don't have the Washington experience to change things.
