I will be moving to Van Burien County in the spring. I enjoy crafting, I am looking forward to selling as a vendor. Can anyone give me a few shows that repeat each year for contact information. If you are in some shows already, possibly passing on information would be very helpful. I make earrings and necklaces etc. Thank you!

Locally, Bentonsport hosts a few flea markets throughout the year. There's also an old store there that's owned by the county conservation board and run as sort of an antique and craft consignment store that may be willing to put some of your merchandise on display. For information go to Historic Greef General Store - Antique & Craft Shop* - Greef General Store. The store is closed this time of year so you may have to call the conservation board office for information, that number is on themain page as well.

Most of the "Villages" have at least one event throughout the summer that includes vendor space. You can check out the schedule at Calendar of special events in the Villages of Van Buren County Iowa. I doubt that much is schedule for next year yet, but you should be able to go back and look at last year's schedule to get an idea when they are held. There's lots of other good information about Van Buren County on that site, as well.

There are a couple of HUGE flea markets held monthly in the warmer seasons just south of us in Missouri. For information on these go to Rutledge Flea Market or Flea Market in Colony.

Our neighboring counties are Davis, Wapello, Jefferson, Henry, Des Moines, and Lee in Iowa, and Clark and Scotland in Missouri. I know all of these counties have festivals throughout the year, you might be able to Google them for tourism or chamber of commerce information.

Let me know if you have any other questions about our county. I've lived here 3-1/2 years and been involved in local government and community groups, and my wife is a native, so we sort of think we know what's going on around here.

Thank you so much for all the information!!!!! I have placed some earrings in Keosauqua. The beauty shop named Headquarters, owner/stylist name is Karen Payne Stafford. I am hoping to catch the younger crowd with the styles and right now I am working on more conservative, for the mature ladies in the area. Looking forward to the summer! I will have more questions! Thank you
