I am a single mother looking to move into the Cross Creek Apartments in Davenport and I am from a small town so I am not used to any sort of busy city life at all and I do not know the Quad City area. It would just be me and my 5 year old son moving to the area, as I will be attending St. Ambrose University. I drove through the Cross Creek Apartments recently and although the apartments looked very nice, the neighbors looked a little sketchy. I don't want to be judgmental by any means, but I want to make sure that I would be moving to a nice, safe area with friendly neighbors and no major issues involved. I realize that this is low income housing, which is what I need. The general idea of low income housing families tends to have a poor reputation, but that is not always the case. I just want to get an idea of what the neighborhood is like in this apartment complex. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

They're the new apartments north of WalMart on Elmore. I believe they're fairly safe, mostly because I haven't seen many news stories about major crimes happening there.
