Hi, I'm in the process of relocating and wonder if anyone has input about the Yorktown Apartment Village at 3535 N. Main Street in Davenport. I can't find any reviews posted online as you can for many complexes, but the advertised rent is fairly low ($425 for a 1 br), so it seems worth asking around before I go to have a look at places in person.

I'd like to keep costs down (say, <$600 for 1 br), so I'm not comparing against the higher-end complexes, just looking for a place that's comfortable and doesn't come with problems. Recommendations for other complexes that would fit the bill are welcome, too!

It's not a bad area at all as far as safety goes. Pretty quiet area. Borderline low income area. (Although it's a well established neighborhood of mostly older folks) I'm surprised they're only charging $425.

Good place to live as far as being close to shopping and access to Brady St., Harrison st. and Kimberly Rd., 3 of the main drags.

You'll be about a half a block from the The Filling Station. Good food, bar area, small-ish outdoor beer garden and sand volleyball. There's pretty damn good mexican restaurants in the QCA called Azteca, one of them is right in that area(I've never been to that one)...Also a Kmart, Radio Shack and probably 4-6 other stores right near 35th and Brady.

$600 should cover most places in Davenport.

Good Luck!

I know nothing at all about that particular apartment, but the area is okay and the Azteca there by Kmart is rather wonderful, in my opinion.

Thanks for the input! These apartments looked pretty funky and reeked of heavy smoke. I had to move up the price scale a little to find something that looked better-maintained.
