Hello. My fiancé and I currently live in indiana. We plan to come to iowa in may to get married. We want to have a small wedding with about 10 people max. A woman that works with the parks department in Davenport told me about a beautiful gazebo at riverview terrace park. She said it has a few benches which is fine with us because we don't want anything huge or fancy. But we would like it to be pretty. Our wedding date is May 17. What do you think about the iowa weather around that time of year? Also, I would LOVE and appreciate with all of my heart if someone could take a few photos of this gazebo area and benches for me. We plan to be in iowa in march to look but I would like to see it now too. We are having a VERY hard time finding pictures of it online. Thanks for all of your help!!

Ummm....That is more of a lookout point than a park..And it's not in the best part of town (Not dangerous whatsoever, just run down)..The few benches are spread out and pointed toward the river, not the gazebo.

(If someone I know from Davenport told me they were getting married at riverview terrace park..I'd give them a quizzical look and just kinda nod my head.)

I've been to a few weddings at the Gazebo at Duck Creek Park in Davenport. Much, much, nicer spot. All in the middle of rose gardens and flower beds etc.. A legit wedding spot.

May 17th could be 72 degrees and sunny or 50 degrees and raining.

Lindsey Park in the East Village would be a killer spot, over looks the river and all that..But no gazebo or seating. I've seen people bring an arch of sorts to stand under and those white plastic chairs..It looked like a nice little wedding. (You wouldn't have to reserve it like you would the Duck Creek gazebo)

There's also a gazebo in Centennial Park right on the river where a friend of mine got married. To be honest, for 10 people almost anywhere can be made to work. I also don't think Riverview Terrace is that weird of a spot for a small ceremony like that. Washington Street is being slowly improved, and the homes across the street from the park are very scenic as well. Prospect Park on the east side of Davenport has a similar river overlook feel, and probably a better view, but there's no gazebo there, just a few benches.
