Glad you are enjoying your new locale.

I, for one, miss real Midwestern winters. "Winters" in the Deep South can get cold enough to snow, but rarely do anyway.

It was 40 in Des Moines today with full sun.

It felt like a heat wave to me. (: At least until the wind blew. Brrrrrrr!

I'm not whining. Central Ohio has already had two nasty ice storms. As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'd much rather have a snow pack than the constant freeze-thaw cycle that leads to extended icy patches each evening.

Two words: base layer! (aka thermo underwear) . . . Mills Fleet Farm south of OraLabor on Delaware has lots of cold weather gear, as does Sportman's Warehouse, west of the corner of Oralabor and Delaware in Ankeny.

I just rolled out the garbage can wearing only a hoodie . . . Brrrrrr! I've got to break that habit.

I'm good on cold weather gear thanks. Just playing around.

I actually prefer today's weather over the asphalt ice skating rink of a few days ago. The lifting of the tow ban was a nice touch too.
