My family and I just moved here from Columbus Ohio. We are currently renting a house in Marion Iowa. We love the town & my daughter is enrolled in the Linn-Marr school district, but we don't want to live in Marion becasue the real estate taxes are so high and the houses are too close together. The hubby works in Anamosa so we are hoping to buy a home closer that direction but still be close to "Stuff". We started looking in Springville. Can anyone give me an info on the people that live in that town? Would you consider it safe?

Do you mean Springville, IA? If so, it's probably your typical small (tiny) town. Cheap houses, mostly locals.

Safety won't be an issue in Springville. Small town Iowa is overall extremely safe. I wouldn't be surprised if people in Springville don't lock their doors. (Not that I condone this, but it happens.)

Where i grew up in west central Iowa on a farm i don't even know if my parents had a key to the house. Keys for all vehicles were in the ignition 100% of the time. Even while on vacation, front door was closed but wasn't locked and the cars that were left behind were unlocked with keys in ignition. They still do that, and there isn't any reason to not do it. Wish it was like that everywhere.
