Well, I moved here 18 years ago and have regretted it most of the time. People are not friendly! My home and property are the only thing that keeps me here. When my kids were at home, we open enrolled to another school district. I wouldn't recomend it to anyone.

If your from Iowa you pretty much know what it looks like. It looks like your typical tiny farm town in the middle of nowhere.

They do have a casino now, but other than that it's pretty much a dreary little town.

And like a previous poster said, if you are an outsider, you are viewed as such. It's your typical small town where everyone knows everyone, and it's hard to break their circle.

Isn't Osceola a little bigger than a tiny farm town? I seem to recall that they have some major retailers, chain restaurants and some different neighborhoods and so on. I'm not saying Osceola is anything special by any means, I'm just sayin'...

I once came pretty close to getting bit by a copperhead or something in Osceola. That's all I really have to share.

I guess you and I have a different definition of tiny farm town. I consider anything under 50,000 small. Anything under 10,000 little, and anything under 5,000 tiny.

Mine may be a bit skewed though, because I have lived in huge metropolises for the past 6 years...

It seems a little misleading to call Osceola a "tiny farm town" though. I'd figure most people would think of a tiny farm town as maybe a few hundred people, a grain elevator, MAYBE a Caseys and a watering hole. I'd think "small town" would describe Osceola.

Realistically, it's just a typical rural county seat. There's probably 10,000 people in the area.
